"Joy" : "delight", "great pleasure", "jubilation", or "happiness".

One of the faces I look at when I need a reminder.

The eyes that I smile into when I need a strong dose of the joy that now resides within this tiny two-year-olds heart.

The ever-present-in-her-mouth thumb that I grab as she falls into my lap to make me laugh right when I want to cry.

The giggle that leaves me unable to to resist the joy that wells deep inside of me when I tickle her until she almost can't breathe.

My little Joy.

Isaiah 55:12 "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."

You truly are joy in my life, little girl.
You bring joy, laughter and smiles into my life each day of yours.
You do go out with joy and are led forth with peace...
may it continue for the rest of your days, my little Joy.

  2. Amy! Thanks so much for doing the photo shoot!! I cannot even BEGIN to imagine the time and effort it took to make it happen! But I'm SO glad you did!! These pictures make me yearn for hugs and tickle-time! When I look at beautiful little Joy, I think of all the prayers on her behalf, that she would one day be able to walk. Thank You, God, for making those weak legs strong!!!! Joy is a beautiful reminder of God's love, His redemption of brokenness, and His ability to make something beautiful out of something that looks hopeless. I love you, Joy!!! :)

  3. Oh Amy!! I'm marveling and smiling at all the lovely photos of each and everyone of your precious children. I stopped on this one, on Joy...because your description of her "ever-present-in-her-mouth thumb" immediately made me think of my Lucy. And then I scrolled down the photos, and there it was that same look, that same comforting thumb....2 little girls, 2 different continents, 2 very different stories, and yet that same exact look, same leg dangle and then I realized she has on what I believe is one of Lucy's dresses that made it to Uganda. (it was a favorite :-) and it just made my night. Silly thing, hand-me-downs, objects, just clothing...but it made my heart feel a love shared to know something that touched my little wonderful was touching yours. love you friend.
